Experimenting with Biographical and Scenario Based questions with a candidate from Indonesia
In this special interview simulation with a candidate from Indonesia we separate the job interview in two parts:
In Part one the interviewer uses only Biographical and Personality based questions. Part two consists of Scenario Based and Situational questions only. After each part the audience ranks the candidate against the competencies team orientation, performance orientation, structured thinking, and general communication skills.
This is a great exercise to determine a) which of these techniques is more suited to an international interview setting, and b) generally how specific ways of asking applicants influence the way the answers are formed. In the end we gain very interesting insight on the effect of each question type, but with no clear winner between the two ways of conducting a job interview.
