German-Indian project engineer recruited for Joint Venture project in Pune, India
Founded in 1850, the family-run German company Meiller is one of the world leaders of truck tipper bodies and tipping trailers, and systems partner for the commercial vehicle industry worldwide. When looking to hire an Indian project engineer based in Germany with the task of supporting a local Indian Joint Venture partner, interpool was the partner of choice. The targeted candidate was supposed to have excellent engineering skills, a very good business understanding and an excellent interculturally profound style of communicating; ideally of Indian origin with very good knowledge of German.
Interpool included both Indians living in Germany in the recruitment process (both Indian graduates and masters students as well as engineers with experience), and also engineers working currently in India, thereby ideally for a German company. Eventually, an Indian graduate from a German university, who had been in working Germany for two years, was selected for the position.
"A lucky catch" said the responsible Technical Director of German Meiller Group. "At first we were uncertain if such Indian candidates even existed in Europe, so we were very pleased about the cooperation with interpool."
